Medium Architekten is a Hamburg-based architecture studio with over 50 years of practice, built on a simple conviction: spaces should serve people, places should last generations. Under partners Michael Ruffing and Thomas Rodemeier, a team of around 20 architects works across building, urban planning, landscape and interior design as a single integrated discipline: what the studio calls meta-disciplinary environmental design. Notable projects include Villa Viva Hamburg, the Akademisches Kunstmuseum Bonn and the Filmuniversität Babelsberg. Their practice prioritises sustainable construction, heritage preservation and genuine community engagement over architectural gesture.
